Galvanising steel

During the surface refinement, we work closely with companies that have the expertise and understand problematic that our products may present. The text below was written in cooperation with our expert suppliers.

Galvanising

A procedure to protect steel components from corrosion.

Electrical current is applied to the sheet metal plate and immersed into an electrolyte bath. This generates a layer of zinc between approx. 0.003 and 0.020 mm thick (DIN EN ISO 12329). This process takes place at a temperature range between 20 and 60°C, which makes it perfectly suitable for sheet metal plates less than 2.00 mm thick.

Hot-dip galvanising

Acorrosion protection procedure during which the parts are dipped into a bath of molten zinc. A zinc layer between 0.05 to 0.15 mm is created (DIN EN ISO 1461). The temperature range is between 440 bis 460°C. However, this process is not recommended for plate thicknesses less than 2.00 mm and hole widths less than 7 mm.
